Mrs Bailey, aged 79 from Wootton, said: “It’s important that members of the public are given access to the custody environment, because it provides transparency about policing and custody activities. Mrs Bailey, who has volunteered on the scheme since its inception in the mid-1980s, was delighted to receive the award. Mrs Barbara Bailey and her family were invited to Newport Police Station yesterday to receive an award for her service with the Independent Custody Visiting (ICV) scheme. ![]()
